Hi,We're having an issue with Vista where it automatically maps redundant drive letters to shares on a 2003 server until it runs out of letters.The user has 4 mapped drives originally created by a logon batch file using the NET USE [Drive Letter]: \\[server]\[share] method. They were never originally assigned to be "persistent."He then called saying that a USB thumbdrive would not show up. Looking into the issue, we found that Vista had remapped the same 4 drives over and over using all the remaining drive letters through Z.We removed him from the GPO that enforces the logon script, cleared all network drives via NET USE [drive letter]: /delete and manually mapped the drives directly on the PC. After several days, the machine builds up a redundant list of drives again through the letter Z to the same 4 resources on the server.There are a dozen similar Vista machines being used that all use the mapped drives at logon without issues or duplicates. It just seems to be this one PC that has the issue.What could be causing this and is there any way to force Vista not to re-map similar resources?Thanks!

I am getting this on Windows 7 also. From one minute to the next it will have created all drive letters with the same mapped network drive. Running Windows 7 Pro. Drives are mapped from Windows 2003 server and this doesnt happen on any of the XP machines.

I also have one user that is having this issue. It is mapping drives on his Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit edition to a file server that is on Win Server 2003 32bit.

I have a user experiencing this with Win7x64 running in VMware Fusion on a Macbook pro - connecting to Win 2003 server in an AD domain. Mappings appear immediately after logging in. I'm stumped!! Anyone??
