Moving SP2.CAB and SP3.CAB
When it creates a bootable recovery CD image (ISO) file Retrospect copies the entire contents of the i386 folder to the CD, along with some other stuff. My i386 folder contains both the SP2.CAB and SP3.CAB files and their size makes the ISO file created by Retrospect too large to fit on a CD (by about 40 MB).Can I temporarily move these files (and other CAB files?) from the i386 folder and then move them back after the ISO file is created? Seems to me it shouldn't create a problem, but thought it best to ask. 1 person needs an answerI do too

If you are creating a bootable image the i386 folder contents should have no impact on the ability to boot from that image (as far as I'm aware)So your plan seems valid, you can in any case test your image

Many thanks for your response. I will test the bootable CD after creation. I should have been more clear in my question. Will Windows XP care if I move those CAB files before creating the image file? That is to say, does Windows XP use those files during a session? Will it even notice if they're (temporarily) not in the i386 folder? I'm (initially) not as concerned about the ability to boot from the CD and do a restore as I am about crashing Windows while trying to create it! One problem at a time.Regards.
