Moving All Users Existing Conference from one pool to another
Hi, I have a Lync 2010 environment with 2 pool - Primary and DR. Synchronous SQL replication is happening from primary to DR through SAN replication mechanism and we are having different pool name and SQL names. DR pool will be always activated. In case of disaster, we can turn up SQL in DR site and it will have all the data same as in primary. now we would move users from Primary to DR site using Force command. Since Primary SQL will be down so users won't move normally. After moving users forcefully contact list and previous conferences will be lost. I am aware about using DBImpExp to restore users contact list in DR site but getting confused that how should I restore conference in DR site. Gone through lots of articles but no one gives clear insight of moving conference with detailed steps. Please let me know the steps for the same.

Hi SaurabhMG,

Lync Server 2010 user contacts and meeting information is stored locally in the local instance of the RTC database (local)\RTC. You can back up and restore this information as part of the prescribed disaster process by using the Lync Server 2010 Database Import Export utility (Dbimpexp.exe).

To restore the user data, at the command line, type:

Dbimpexp.exe /hrxmlfile:D\BackupUsers.xml /sqlserver:sql.contoso.com\rtc /import /restype:all

To restore the conference in DR site, you do not need to do anything else.

Best regards,

Eric
