Hi, 

Every single time I upload a video on to my computer, Movie Maker opens it. It won't allow me to get any other program to open it. And then it does something to it and it is now a 'project' and youtube won't accept it in that mess.

How can I stop Movie Maker from being the default movie mess on my computer. I don't want to edit my movies. I just want to play them and I can't do it. It has messed up every single video I've made by converting it into something that I now can't play. I have no idea how to convert them back.

Right click on one of your videos and then in Propertise , under Open with, change the program to Windows Media Player.

As mentioned by Cyber_Defend_Team, you could change the file associations so your movie file wont be open with movie maker.
