Mouse not clicking until Task Manager is opened
I am having a weird issue where my mouse quits responding on my notebook until I open Task Manager. It then works for awhile and then quits responding again. This happens when I use my external usb mouse or even when I have the notebook undocked and use the touchpad. Its not only this computer, but also my desktop which I suspect a windows update or something has caused it but cant seem to figure it out. I have ran msconfig and disabled all startup services and it is still happening. Does anyone else have any ideas or suggestions?

Hi, Did you test this issue in Safe Mode? According to you description, your mouse cannot work properly with two computers, it also could be related to the specific device; if it is possible, please change another mouse to check this issue. Hope it helps. Alex ZhaoPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I'm having the exact same issue as are many others on the net. Regardless of the hardware, many external mice or the laptop touchpad, clicks will just stop registering on all applications. Sometimes clicks still register just on the taskbar and sometimes they don't register anywhere. CTL-ALT-DLT and starting the task manager kicks the system back into recognizing clicks again. This is a Lenovo T410. Thanks.
