may I know your PC model? the reason why I asked is regarding CMOS issue, normally PC that more than 3years will have this kind of issue
Please follow this TS regarding Hang freeze issue
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2681286
Regarding time and date, please check in your BIOS whether date and time is correct or not, if date time in BIOS is correct, I suspected its virus issue. If date and time in BIOS is incorrect its time to change the battery
based on my experienced, PC slow will also caused by bad HDD, virus or small free space
I suggest you free up some space to check the differences (my opinion free space = 20% HDD capacity or partition capacity)
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/free-up-disk-space
then make sure your HDD working fine by defrag or check HDD health using built in app or any reliable 3rd partyapp.
last will be scan your PC, use reliable antivirus to detect virus or malware on your PC
I also find sometimes this issue will caused by 3rd party browser add-on. try to reset the browser to test, run browser without add-on or try at safe mode with networking
