My mouse pointer speed resets to minimum automatically. When I try to adjust it and click "apply" button, it again goes back to minimum.

I am using 8.1 Pro and had the same problem with windows 7.

I have tried reinstalling windows. i have updated the drivers. Checked the Start up manager.

But the problem persists. This is happening with both the touchpad and optical mouse. I have tried removing the optical mouse drivers yet, the problems remains with the touchpad.

I haven't installed any 3rd party software relating to mouse and keyboard.
