Mounted volume appears as Portable Device with warning

Hi!

Really large files Virtual DVD's etc) I store on a separate volume that I have mounted in the C: NTFS tree. Did this with Disk Manager. After a reboot this volume appears in Device Manager under Portable Devices which is wrong of course. But after reboot with a yellow triangle (code 10). It is working fine though. Annoying.

I suppose this is a problem in the boot sequence of Windows 8. Could a technician at Microsoft look into this and repair this in a future version.

Hi,

Would you please let us know more details?

  1. How did you mount the volume?
  2. Is it a device or software exactly?
  3. Was there any change before the issue occurred?

If it is a storage device, please back up the data first and try the following:

  1. Check if it works on other computer.
  2. Remove it from Device Manager and reinstall it with the latest driver.

Thanks.
