More Boxes
Disc Clean-up should get used on a regular basis to help keep HDDs rid of unnecessary files... once a day is a good schedule. Here is an approach to the Disc Cleanup utility that will give more than usual # of items listed, more boxes to check... (> = go to) > cmd (Command Prompt), @ the prompt type cleanmgr tuneup:n, hit Enter. Disc Cleanup windows appears but, w/ more 'stuff' than you were accustom. Now check all the (many, more) boxes, hit OK Use this all the time especially just before a defrag and it works like a dream. Keeps your system running nicely. I just tried this and it doesn't actually run the cleanup, only changes the options that will apply the next time cleanup runs automatically. At least that's what it said. I tried running it manually and the settings I changed did not apply.Rich

Make sure you read all the things it will clean up automatically, and you're sure you want it to do that. Some folks might not want the recycle bin automatically emptied, for example.-Noel
