Monitor not turning ON after Standby, XP Home
Why does my monitor not turn ON when I push my spacebar to bring my PC out of Standby? Running XP Home. Have keyboard set to bring computer out of Standby. Sleep button set to put computer into Standby. Spacebar brings computer out of Standby. Computer fans start when spacebar pushed, but monitor doesn't come ON. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.Addendum:The problem is occuring in XP Home, Service Pack 3. In C:\WINDOWS\system32, I replaced wzcsapi.dll, wzcdlg.dll and wzcsvc.dll with the same files from a PC running XP Home, service Pack 2. Still had the problem. In My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Manager, Network Adaptors, I looked for a wireless card, but there was not one there (since it's a desktop). So, I couldn't try the "Disable power management" fix.Sleep button on keyboard puts PC into Stand By. In Stand By, when spacebar on keyboard is pushed, the fan runs at a higher level but nothing else happens (hard drive does not come on and monitor does not come on).Any other suggestions?1 person needs an answerI do too

Do you have any other peripherals connected to that system? Remove everything from the system and try again and see if thatchanges the reaction you get from the system.
