Computer: Dell Laptop with Windows XP SP 2Problem: When I close the lid of laptop instead of shutting down, it went to standby, but when I open the lid again, the machine is running (I hear the usual noise) but not the monitor. Even if I reboot by pressing the power button, the monitor is not turning on afterwards.I searched for help online and found this post http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917332. Here its says about some hotfix, but even to download that to the computer, I could not login. Using safe mode I am not able to connect to internet.Any help to solve the problem would be appreciated. Also suggest steps to avoid the same issue in future
