Monitor blinking
Two questions: First, when bringing my computer out of sleep mode, my monitor blinks for a while then shows the desktop. Do I need to consider another monitor? This one is about 3 years old.Second: Can I delete all the updates (up to but not including the latest) in the add/remove. Seems like this is using up a lot of space and may be contributing to the slow down of my computer. I am using Windows XP.1 person got this answerI do too

First, What on the monitor is blinking? The screen itself or the led?Second, No, The updates are that, if newer updates come out, they replace the files, not add in addition to.

The screen itself. If the update is replacing the file then why does it show in the "add/remove" each and every update with the amount of space it took up. So you suggest not removing those updates?

The hotfixes are updating many files. It is not just that update you see. When new updates are installed, if it is updating some of the same files as previous updates it overwrites them. Do not remove the updates, only if you update and it causes a problem.THe monitor blinking is generally due to the driver for your video adapter. Try updating your video adapter driver.
