Modem
I have a Optiplex 620. It has been connected to the internet through a router and wireless. I am now trying to connect via dial up. Looking up the internet connection, it does not give me the option for dial up. Does this mean I need a modem just for dail up.1 person got this answerI do too

Yes, you need a dialup modem installed if you want to use dialup. Make sure you have a hardware modem in that machine and that is is enabled. You will have to create the dialup connection.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

HiI have a modem and it is set up and XP recognizes it. The "connection" tab in int. options leaves the dial-up section grey and the bullet "never dial a connection" is marked. How can I get XP to let me configure my dialup info?Even my ISP tech help didn't know why it was grey. I used their setup CD that worked on another computer with XP.???
