When a javascript tries to open a link in a new windows I het the error message: Message: Cannot open an anonymous level security token. The solution to this is to go to dcomcnfg -> Expand Componenet Services -> ComputersSelect My Computer -> right click My Computer and select Properties. On the Default Properties tab set the Default Aute\hentication level and Default Impersonation level. Here is my problem: I have no values to set here. What have happened here?-=Grubler=-

Hi Grbbler, Could you please offer a screenshot of the issue if the suggestion cannot be followed:1. Choose ComponentServices->Computers->My Computer. 2. Choose Properties from the context menu. 3. Choose the Default Properties tab. 4. Select Connect in the Default Authentication Level drop down list if it is set to None. Choose OK, confirm selection in popup and close dcomcnfg.exe. 5. If the authentication level is not set to None, dont change it, since it may have been set by something else (such as an Admin). 6. While at it, it is better to change the Default Impersonation Level to Identify, if it is set to something else. As mentioned, a setting greater than Identify lowers the COM security on the box.Thanks.

Hi RobinsonI don't have any selectable values (blank dropdown) in Default Authentication Level drop down list. This also applies to the Default Impersonation Level. How can I get the dropdown lists populated? This must be a bug from MS.-=Grubler=-

Hi Grubler, Could you please offer a MPS report to let me check it?If you do not have sensitive information on the computer (IP address, domian names....), Could you please take following steps to collect a MPS report? A. Download MPS Reporting Tool (MPSRPT_PFE.EXE) from the following link: (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=00ad0eac-720f-4441-9ef6-ea9f657b5c2f&DisplayLang=en) Please note: The link may be truncated when you read the E-mail. Be sure to include all text between '(' and ')' when navigating to the download location. B . Right click MPSRPT_PFE.EXE and select Run as Administrator to run this tool, and you will see a Command Window start up. C . Please type Y with the message of <Include the MSINFO32 report? (defaults to Y in 15 seconds)[Y,N]? D . When the tool is done you will see an Explorer Window opening up the %systemroot%\MPSReports\Setup\Reports\cab folder and containing a <Computername>MPSReports.cab file. After collecting, please use Windows Live SkyDrive (http://www.skydrive.live.com/) to upload the file and then give me the download address. If you do not want to public the informaiton, please let me know. I will create a security channel to upload the file. Thanks.

I am also seeing this problem on Vista SP1. Interestingly, the DCOM default properties tab shows DCOM not enabled and the mycomputer icon in the tree has a red down arrow. However, dcom functions are operating normally...?...If I try and turn on dcom, the drop downs for authentication and impersonation are empty.

I had the same problem and I found a solution. The Distributed Transaction Coordinator Service would not start because there was a registry key preventing it from starting. For some reason the key wasn't properly changed after Sysprepping. The following key should be set to 0 (hex): HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSDTC\SysprepInProgress DCOM is turned off during a Sysprep and should restart afterwards, but sometimes it leaves this key unchanged.

Hi Robinson - I am also experiencing the exact same issue. Windows 7 Enterprise. dcomcnfg -> Expand Componenet Services -> Computers Select My Computer -> right click My Computer and select Properties. On the Default Properties tab set the Default Aute\Authentication level and Default Impersonation level. Here is the problem: No values to set here. What happened to them... they are blank Cheers, Jim Middleton
