Recently i'm encountering the problem, that no description is shown at Windows Update. You can't select important and critical updates or see what critical updates you are installing. Screenshots of the problem can be found here: http://www.sevenforums.com/attachments/windows-updates-activation/48828d1263988068-no-description-updates-update1.jpg http://www.sevenforums.com/attachments/windows-updates-activation/48829d1263988068-no-description-updates-update2.jpg How can I get rid of it?

Hi Alex! Try to do this steps. Right-click Command Prompt (in Start Menu\Programs\Accessories) and choose Run as Administrator. Type (or Copy and Paste) the following commands, pressing Enter after each one (you should get a pop-up message after each command): regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wups2.dll regsvr32 wuwebv.dll regsvr32 wucltux.dll Close Command Prompt, and try Windows Update again. regards I want to be a MVP! | Computer Technician

Hi Alex, You can run Windows Update Troubleshooting Tool by going to Start -> Control Panel -> Troubleshooting -> Fix problems with Windows Update. Follow the wizard and see if this issue can be resolved. If the issue persists, run this Fix it Tool to check the result: How do I reset Windows Update components? Hope this helps. Regards, Linda

Hi Linda, in an other forum the Fix it Tool was mentioned from someone. I executed it, restartet my machine and it seems Windows Update is working again as it should. Thx for confirming the solution though. Regards, Alex
