Missing file with Windows 7 and Word 2002
Installed a New Laptop with Windows 7 and Office 2002 on our Network ( 2003 Server ), When Creating a New Word Document and Saving it on the Network, all other Network Users ( Xp Systems and same Office ) Can't see open or editit !!!Even when searching for the file as Administrator on the File Server the File is not There !!!.But When I Move/Copythe File with Windows 7 File Manager ( the Only Unit that can see the file in the Network ) to a other folder and the copy it Back. All users can see the file in Both Locations. This Issue happes only with this Unit that has Windows 7 !!!!As for Network Premmisions ( witch have not changed ) All Users have the same. And it happens in every New or Old Folder in the Network.Any Advice !?!?

Intriguing problem! It sounds as if you've done a bit of troubleshooting already, but I have to ask the obviousquestion: Are you absolutely SURE you have the path to the file right on the network?Try this:1. Save a file with a simple name in a network folder, e.g., Test.doc.2. Have another user try to save a file of the same name in what you believe to be the same place.Does the other user see the message "Overwrite Existing File?" or any other message preventing him/her from saving the file?If not, then somehow youmust bepointing to different folders. How, specifically, are you accessing your network folders? Through a mapped network drive or a UNC filename?Have you got Windows 7 set to show filename extensions? It's an option in the Explorer Tools -> Folder Options config.-Noel

Are the computers in a domain or a workgroup? It seems that the search function does not have permission to access the files. Are the files stored on a computer or in a network storage? I suggest you follow the steps below to change the NTLM authentication level. Network security LAN Manager authentication level Security Configuration Editor Please change the NTLM authentication level to Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated. Please refer the article. If issue still occurs you may temporary disable the firewall and check the result again.Arthur Xie - MSFT
