Missing Bitlocker Key
I have been locked out of my computer because of too many failed attempts at the password. It has been taking it just fine since i got it, but for whatever reason I did not like it now. Of course, I did not take time to write down, print or save my bitlocker key when i first got my computer. Now the only screen it goes to when starting up is the Please Enter Recovery Key/Bitlocker. Is there a way to get my bitlocker key without having access to my system or will I have to go back in and use the recovery tool ? Lastly, I have tried using Shift +F8 to get into safe mode but have not been successful. Is safe mode still something I can get to at this point? Please advise.

If you lost the  Bitlocker key and recovery key, you may find some professional data recovery companies to help you.

Hi,

Bitlocker provides plenty strong protection to your drive/data in the event the computer is lost or stolen and its job is protecting your hard drive from unauthorized access by using password and recovery key. If you lost them, I am afraid it would be bad news.

Hi.

Let me quote: "Of course, I did not take time to write down, print or save my bitlocker key when i first got my computer" - surely, you may not say "of course" here. Because if you were the person who encrypted, you would have to have saved or printed, because that's mandatory, not optional. And it won't let you save to the encrypted drive, even, only somewhere else. So please try to remember.

However, if it wasn't you, ask that person.
