Forgot to tell, my TV is a LG model lg55la7900 with the latest firmware, and my surface pro (first model) have all the updates available on the WindowsUpdate
Tanks

Check for and remove the updates from Windows Update:

I had a perfectly working Surface Pro Win 8.1 RTM since Msoft released the firmware update (Oct) but it then broke when the above updates were delivered late last week.
I removed the update for roll-up October (as above) and then my Miracast functionality came back.
(PS, using Netgear PTV3000).
Hi,
I think this issue is mostly related to the display drivers and hardware, I suggest you keep them up-to-date for a test, or you can wait these vendors to release the latest drivers for Windows 8.1.
