Miracast issues

I have installed Windows 8.1 on my desktop that uses wireless N  adapter (USB) for internet.
Miracast setup does not find  the TV.   when  I tried  "Add a device" from Setting -> PC and Devices -> Device
My TV Miracasting  is  working correctly when  tested with an andrioid device.

 Any  hints to troubleshoot?

 Thanks

Same problem here. When I used le beta of Windows 8.1, I was able to connect to my TV, but since I have the non beta version, I am no more able! 99% of time my surface pro 1 is not able to see the TV, when the tablet see the TV, the TV don't give me the security code... I called LG for help, and they said me the problem is with Windows 8.1 (for sure...).

Check for and remove the updates from Windows Update:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2883200/en-us

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2884846/en-us

I had a perfectly working Surface Pro Win 8.1 RTM since Msoft released the firmware update (Oct) but it then broke when the above updates were delivered late last week.

I removed the update for roll-up October (as above) and then my Miracast functionality came back.

(PS, using Netgear PTV3000).

Hi,

I think this issue is mostly related to the display drivers and hardware, I suggest you keep them up-to-date for a test, or you can wait these vendors to release the latest drivers for Windows 8.1.

Please refer to the similar thread:
