Microsoft wireless display adapter pb

I recently bought the Microsoft wireless display adapter. Plugged it to the TV , it worked fine with my lumia 1520.

But my desktop PC cant connect.

I have MSI Z97 XPOWER AC which has an intel dual band ac 7260 wireless adapter.

VGA NVidia 550gtx TI

windows 8.1

Installed latest windows updates and intel ac 7260 drivers and NVidia drivers.

When I click on devices and project : I cant add a wireless display. it does not exist. even if I go to pc settings and search for the device I cant find the Microsoft wireless display to connect.Need help.

Thank You.

The dialog doesn't look like that for me either and I only see a useful one in some cases only.  For example, I never see it by using Win-P which presumably is the equivalent of Win-K and then Project.  Also, the actual menu item is extremely inconspicuous at the bottom of the menu anyway.  In case it is just hard to see it may help to activate Narrator (Win-Enter) and then see/hear what you get by tabbing forward from the Second screen only button to whatever you can get to.  FWIW when I do that I see/hear "Connect to a different display" (link).  Then once I use that I see the menu item that you are looking for.

Provided the NVidia card and driver have support for Miracast, I've written up a trouble shooting guide at http://digitalmediaphile.com/index.php/2015/01/11/trouble-shooting-miracast/ - there are several things that might prevent the Add a Wireless Display setting from appearing that I've documented.

Hello xpertjm2,

What is your current situation?

We need to firstly run the dxdiag.exe to confirm if the drivers are Micracast supported.
If it is supported. you will need to install the latest drivers from the manufacturer website.
If is not supported, please buy a Micracast supported device.

For more information, please take a look at the following thread similar to this issue.
