Microsoft Windows Security Essentials: problem
I believe something must be erasing my history of last scan. In the last two days MS Security Essentials has changed its status to computer potentially unprotected three different times, reports that the computer has not been scanned recently and then suggests to scan the computer. when scanned it does a full scan not a quick scan and at the end says computer is now protected. the fact is that I have done a full scan on the computer three times in the last two days and my concern is not that the green microsoft security essentials icon is orange but that I may be overusing my laptop, an hp pavilion dv-9000. Any suggestions or answers? Oh, by the way my operating system is a dual boot Vista SP2 and ubuntu linux.

Hi, As far as I know, the orange of Microsoft Security Essentials tray icon alert indicates a potential thread is detected but may not be critical. It is caused by many factors such as Windows Updates, MSE updates, not having backup etc. Therefore, I think it is better to contact Microsoft Security Essentials support and analyze the issue more detailed. https://support.microsoftsecurityessentials.com/Default.aspx?scrx=1&st=1&wfxredirect=1 Best Regards, Niki Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
