Microsoft Vista and XP networking
Hello, Please help! I use a wireless network at home for my laptop (Windows XP) and main desktop PC (Windows Vista). Despite several attempts I have been unsuccessful in linkingthe laptop and the desktop on the same wireless network. I really would like to access files on my desktop (when using the laptop) and vice versa. I have tried the network wizards, set up menus, USB flash drive - but all have failed! I really would be grateful for someone to provide me with a step-by-step guide on how to link both machines. Many thanks

Hello Mouettes, Before we continue to troubleshoot this further, it willhelp to know how your machines are connected. Do both computers connect to a wireless router or an access point? Do both computers have Internet connectivity? If you haven't already, please review this TechNet article on file and printer sharing with Windows Vista. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx -- Eric Cross Microsoft MVP (Windows Desktop Experience) http://mvp.support.microsoft.com
