Microsoft Security Essentials turns off WIFI
Setting up two new Lenovo G550 notebooks. As soon as I installed MSE on either one of them, WIFI connectivity was lost and I was absolutely unable to restore connectivity. Fastest repair on the one I'm working on right now was to restore to factory defaults because I need this machine up now. On the ohter, I plan to see if I can simply uninstall MSE and recover. A Google search finds the problem mentioned and simply uninstalling DID NOT restore connectivity.Anyone have any ideas before I go back to square one on the ontehr machine?1 person needs an answerI do too

I have just attempted to uninstall MSE from the other computer. no problem uninstalling the application but WI-FI connectivity is still lost. Restoring factory installation and starting over on this one too.Terrible waste of time having to do this. Microsoft blew it.

Something similar is happening to me. I am encountering wifi connection problems since I have instaled Microsoft Secrity Essentials. Particulary when trying to copy big files (over 100MB) from my local server down to local HDD on laptop, it shoots my WiFi router down and disconnect all connected laptops. After a minute connection is back on. But if I try to copy the file again, the situation repeats. I have noticed this after I have installed MSE on second laptop, as I am not using the first one too often. Copying started to work, when I have disabled online data scan in MSE, but the connection dropped in the very moment, when I turned it on back, to check the behavior. On the first laptop, it doesnt depend on the state of MSE, the connection is killed allways when copying.
