I have microsoft security essentials and I tried to update it and got an error message, so i uninstalled and reinstalled it and it worked said I was protected, I could go onto the internet and everything but when I hit the update button it goes about half way and an error message appears that says: MSE wasn’t able to check for virus & spyware definition updates. Make sure computer is connected to the internet (which it was, I was on websites) Error code: 0x80072efe It is like the internet is connected but it will not connect any kind of security application or updater to the actual connection? The problem i was having to begin with is i would start my computer and i would get my wallpaper screen but no icons, so i would keep resterting unitl the icons appeared but then I would connect to the internet and it would say it was on google but the webpage would not show up it just said can not connect to the internet. I was able to finally get google to come up this morning but I still cannot get my MSE to update, goes halfway and then I get the error messgae? Can someone please help me? My computer is Windows XP Service pack 31 person got this answerI do too
