Microsoft Outlook 2007 will not open.
I know this is a long message, however, I want help based on what I have or have not done. We use Windows XP, Office 2007 student and teacher edition, Outlook 2007. Norton is our protection. Suddenlink is our internet. This has been the week that will not stop. On Friday the 4th of February our computer got a virus called Axel.dav. It destroyed program file after file. We ended up calling Norton. We paid 99.00 for them to remote access our computer to eliminate this virus. Problem solved. However, the programs were still gone. We reloaded our Microsoft Office 2007 student and home version. I know this does not have Outlook, but I do have it, so we reinstalled our copy of Outlook. Although we installed Outlook, my mail was going to Outlook Express instead. With this problem facing me I called Suddenlink who helped with the correct setting Outlook began to work. It worked fine for a few days. Then, I was looking for an email which I needed which had been backuped on an external drive. When I clicked on the email (ended up being not the one I needed) it was opened with Outlook Express. It was an email my husband had saved at work (where they use Outlook Express). A message came up saying do you want Outlook Express to be your default mail and I said NO. Once we clicked on this email then Outlook Express took over and now Office Outlook will not open at all. We have tried everything from system restore to the navigation panel reset, to repairing Outlook and Office from the CDs, and reloading them. I am lost. I have never asked a question before so I sure hope you have all of the information to help. ThanksLinda De
