Microsoft Lync LBR regulation India

hi,

This is related to Microsoft Lync usage in India , as per Trai regulation can a user based out of one state like delhi have a lync extension  ( voice & PSTN )given from different country's MS lync Pool server like US or Singapore etc ? Is that allowed under any cercumstances , by some add-on licence or anything in India ? Thanks

Hi

It looks like the answer to your question is no. The user must have a local DID and break out on the PSTN locally as toll bypass is illegal. I am no expert on Indian law, but a fellow community member has written an article about this specific issue you are facing here: https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/lync/Location-Based-Routing-for-34e85a9b

thanks

Hi,

Regulations of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) require that voice traffic over the enterprise data network and the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) must be strictly separated and no mixing of calls between the two networks can occur for the purpose of toll bypass.
