We have a shoretel VOIP phone system and I have updated the shoreware client.

Hi arschroeder1954,
Sorry for the inconvenience caused by the issue. From the event message, the issue may be caused by the compatibility with the shoretel VOIP phone system. You can try the following steps:
1.Close down any processes associated with shoretel ;
2.Use the command:regsvr32 -u "<path to install dir>\ShoreWare Client\UccApi.dll" to unregister uccapi.dll;
3. Please exit outlook and IE, then repair Office 2013 in Program and Features and restart the computer to test the issue.
Best Regards,
Eason Huang

Kent,

I'm having the same issue and I'm running the latest version of your software.  So Lync 2013 does not like the 'UccApi.dll' supplied by Shoretel.  The version I'm running is 2.0.6362.67 for Shoretel.  I unregistered the UccApi.dll from Shoretel and now I'm getting a different crash.

Kent,

We somehow got luck with one computer and hoping to replicate the solution.   It makes zero sense, but it appears to work.

1. Un-install Lync 2013 basic lient.

2. Re-install Lync 2013 basic client.

3. Reboot.

The Shoretel dll is still registered and the Shoretel client continues to function.

While searching through many forums for the issue you stated with the KERNELBASE.dll

Found this fix, and it resolved the issue for us.

Rename Lync.exe to _Lync.exe, opened it from the start menu, and Windows Installer ran for lync. After completion lync opened without crashing.

Hope this helps those who aren't having the shoretel issue (which the shortel dll unregister fix does work for)

Cheers!
