Microsoft Lync 2010 Version 4.0.7577.314
While in a Lync conversation , keyboard shortcuts such as ctrl-c ctrl-v do not work. Right-click cut, right-click paste work correctly. Very annoying.

Hi,Ace,

I am also using Lync version 4.0.7577.314,and the copy/paste keyboard shortcuts work well.

Have you installed all the July update packages for both Lync Servers and Clients? If still not work maybe you can try to update your Lync client to CU4 to see if it works.

Another old thread talked about the similar sceanrio with lower version just for your reference.

Sharon

I am using the latest version .4051 version and all works well with me. You might also check the client policy there is a setting to allow RTF IM and HTMLIM  these will allow you to copy and paste the different formats into the IM window

This is a bug in the Lync client that seems to have been getting better with each CU release.  Since updating to CU4 I think it's only happened to me once or twice.  In any case, when this happens you have to exit the client completely and restart it to resolve the issue.

I can second that as it seems to happen to me after Lync has been running for quite some time (multiple days) and a restart of the application restores CTRL- key shortcut functionality.

I have version 4.0.7577.4098 and just ran into the issue as well.  I restarted Lync and the functionality is restored.

Here's some info to help repeat the bug:
I am on a Windows 7 Dell Lattitude laptop.
My Lync session was running for a few days.
The bug does not appear to have anything to do with docking/undocking my work laptop or going into sleep mode or switching between monitors or dual display.
Perhaps the bug happens after an atypical IM sharing session?  I tried all kinds of things in an IM sharing session (sharing, giving control, etc.) to no avail.

I will have to test more to be able to repeat it.

Can anyone reproduce the error?

OK.  It's 2013.  I just installed the latest version of Lync and have all updates.  Version is 4.0.7577.4356 and the same problem still exists.  the original post was in December 2011.  Is Microsoft no longer supporting this product?  It would seem like, since this is a Microsoft forum, they would be aware of this issue and would have already addressed it.  Could someone from Microsoft at least post a comment to let the user community know it this issue is in their queue of things to fix?  -2 points to Microsoft for poor customer service.

Version 4.0.7577.4446 here, Lync 2010, Windows 7 Enterprise. I still have this problem.

Very frustrating as it occurs daily, and I have a big dependency on moving massive amounts of information quickly between windows.

Please fix this issue!

Hello time travellers! I'm writing to you now from the year 2015. West Africa has had a terrible ebola epidemic, but Liberia has 0 cases this week, for the first time in nearly one year. Russia has been invading Ukraine, but says they aren't. Computers and handheld smart-phones are even faster. Robots have not taken over the world, but Malaysian airplanes disappear from time to time. Cars still don't fly unless dropped from an airplane. The cable company still has horrible customer service. Republicans are still trying to repeal Obamacare. And this bug still hasn't been fixed in Lync!

Using version 4.0.7577.4446, I saw this problem for the first time yesterday afternoon, and resolved it, for now, by restarting Lync. Just before I observed this problem, I shared my screen in a large Lync conversation (about 18 participants). I have participated in screen-sharing conversations many times, but this may be the first time I have shared my screen. Certainly, it's at least the first time in several months. So I would lean toward screen sharing as a possible cause. This definitely seems like a High Priority defect, Microsoft.
