Microsoft Knowledge Base Articles
There used to be a Print Option so that you could get a copy that did not require a magnifying glass to read. Using Internet Explorer 9 what is the best way to work around the problem it's removal has caused? TIAHope this helps, Gerry

Milos We are discussing the printing of Microsoft Knowledge Base articles. Articles you to contain a Print Option but this seems to have been removed? I suspect you did not link the content of my message to the subject. Does that explain the question? Hope this helps, Gerry

Hi, In IE 9, you can use zoom button if you feel KB font is small. Furthermore, you can also contact IE forum for further help: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ieitprocurrentver/threads The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Thank you for your understanding. Regards, Leo HuangLeo Huang TechNet Community Support

Leo Did you look at the font size which results? I am not visually impaired, other than needing glasses to read, but as I said you need a magnifying glas to read the printed result. Can someone please make a helpful contribution? Hope this helps, Gerry

Hope this helps, Gerry Gerry - I usually get around this by highlighting what I want to print, and using the Print Selection option. - although I just printed a KB, and it looked fine to me (in WPS) Is your install not using the print CSS properly?? (which removes the sidebars, etc.) Check also that you aren't using 'Shrink to fit' (using the Preview option) - this immensely improves readability Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth

Thanks Noel Shrink to fit was the problem. You need to expand a bit more on this suggestion "Is your install not using the print CSS properly?? (which removes the sidebars, etc.) "?Hope this helps, Gerry

You need to expand a bit more on this suggestion "Is your install not using the print CSS properly?? (which removes the sidebars, etc.) "? Hope this helps, Gerry Most sites use CSS coding to alter the appearance of the page, depending on the output type (screen, mobile device, printer, etc.) In the case of the KB articles, the sidebar on the right should disappear in the printed version, without you having to mess around with anything. The header bar also disappears, and colours may be converted to grey-scale as well. This is one of the best things about using CSS coding - without re-downloading the page, you can display it in a number of formats at the same time, with a minimal overhead. (it's also one of the penalties - if something blocks the CSS code, the page either doesn't display at all or looks VERY strange, and usually is text-only, in whatever default font you have running. Try playing with the View Source some time, and edit the CSS there to see what happens - changing one setting can change the entire look of a page, or a whole website) Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth
