Microsoft Forefront Client Security for Windows 7 is excellent!!!
Hi, I recently installed Windows 7 in my laptop and without thinking installed Microsoft Forefront Client Security like my anti-malware software, the experience is excellent, works it very well without problem for scanning, detect threats, show icon or other normal behavior. If anyone have problem or comment installing or using Microsoft Forefront Client Security, please, share your experience.Regards,Edgard Hersen

I did not experience any problems with the installation of Forefront with Windows 7 either. What I am noticing though, is the definitions are not getting updated after 1.55.103.0. I did a /NOMOM install, so updates should be coming from M$. I am wondering if the defs. are not being automatically approved on the M$ WSUS servers?

Hello,I did a /NOMOM installation as well and last update version is 1.55.597.0 on March, 27th.And yes, it's running like a charm. I want to test it under a W2008 Single-Server Deployment tho, to check if everything is ok.Regards.W7 Beta running on an AMD Semprom 3200+ (1800Mhz) with 2 Gbs of RAM and a built-in Nvidia 6100 VGA, and mate, it runs like a charm! And now on my VAIO FE31M Laptop.

When I attempt to install forefront I am getting a message stating there are known issues with this program... or something like that. I just stop there... Are you saying that I can keep installing it and it will work? I'd wanted to try forefront and was a bit confused by the message that it had known compatibility issues. Thanks for the help

Okay, I'd like to not think of myself as a complete idiot... But I can't get Forefront Client to install at all in Win7 RC (7100). I tried the command line prompt method as well as running the installer as Administrator and nothing happens period. I am on a 64-bit machine that is stacked with hardware... What am I doing wrong? Or better asked, what are people doing to get this installed correctly on Win7 RC?Thanks!

Hey,I installed forefront on my Windows 7 system (clientsetup.exe /NOMOM), and the only "problem" I've noticed is that if you haven't opted in to use Microsoft Updates, rather than just Windows Updates, Forefront doesn't get virus and malware definitions. Now, Opting in is a relatively simple procedure, and once done, FF works like a charm. We arein the process of moving from another AV solution and we're trying to make deploying this as user-friendly as possible. Is there any way to automate the opt in process so we don't have to ask all our users to manually do it (if they haven't already)?Thanks!-Victoria

Hi, Microsoft Forefront Client Security needs enabling Microsoft Update client for updates, by default, Windows have enabled Windows Update not Microsoft Update, you needs enabled it. For enable Microsoft Update follow this step in Windows 7: 1.- Open Windows Update console2.- Click over "Get update for more Products" message3.- Ready now you can update MS FCS.

Are you guys running the normal client or thebeta 2? I ask becasue i cannot get an install of beta 2 to work myself, it simply dumps an error log that I can summarize in one line:MSI (s) (A8:C8) [14:28:48:099]: Product: Microsoft Forefront Client Security State Assessment Service -- Installation operation failed.Yeah, I ran as an admin. I could try disabling the UAC alltogether but I really prefer not to.Maybe Ill try it on another machine as a test ...EDIT: that explain that: "this beta version has expired".... either you guys are on a newer beta than I have on technet or you're using the normal client.

Hi, I downloaded Forefront Client Security from my subscriber download section and tried to install Forefront on Win 7 Enterprise. Like the other user, I did receive the warning message as well. Thanks. Eric PS: I'm using the RTM version of Win 7 Enterprise.

Hi,Depending on what version of the operating system is installed on your PC MS Forefront won't load. Any opeating system with media version will not load the MS Forefront.Anytime you load MS Forefront on a PC you have to make sure that any ANTI-Virsus software is uninstalled before loading the software. Hope this helps, Rose

If anyone have problem or comment installing or using Microsoft Forefront Client Security, please, share your experience. Regards, Edgard Hersen Hi Edgard, Is this version of Forefront the same one that is available for download from Technet? I believe I tried it and got an error message stating that it was not compatible with Win 7. Then again, my memory might not be as good as it should be. Any advice on installing onto a Win 7 machine would be most appreciated. Eric

I did as Edgard suggested...added a few more pieces of info here - Open up the DVD directory for Client then x64 for 64bit architecture machines - then hold shift key in and right click the clientsetup.exe file. Select copy as Path. Then open up a command window as Administrator and right click, paste. then add /nomom to the command line and press enter. An update balloon will open from the task manager tray - click this to update the Client application and you are finished. "E:\CLIENT\X64\CLIENTSETUP.EXE" /nomom Thanks Edgard!

I installed 64 bit ForeFront on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit. Windows 7 does not recognize that an antivirus application is installed. And when you tell Windows 7 that I will maintain the antivirus then security center message continues to pop-up. We want Windows 7 to recognize ForeFront as the antivirus app.
