After Microsoft Essentials updates my computer is extremely slow and I see several copies of wuauclt.exe. I do not know if wuauclt is related to my problem. Computer usage time is only a few % but the hard drive is extremely busy. It takes minutes to bring up IE. Thanks very much1 person needs an answerI do too

I find it does the same thing on my ‘slowish’ XP machine but it’s much faster on the newer computers. I tend to run the database update as soon as I switch on and then disappear for a few minutes. In other ways, MSE is less obtrusive than other AV programs.
