Microsoft Essentials and Windows Defender on windows 7 64 bit
I know i dont need Windows Defender if I have Microsoft essentials. I want to uninstall it and get it off my computer but dont see away to do that. It does not seem to have an uninstall? When i go to programs and feature it is not there? Is it possible to remove it completely?

You cannot completely remove the Windows Defender. The only thing you can do is to go to Services and search for Windows Defender service and ensure it is not running and has a start-up type - Manual. This will automatically disable Windows Defender. Please revert back here if you have any more queries about it. Hope it helps! Kunal D Mehta - a Windows Server Enthusiast | My first TechNet Wiki Article

Windows Defender is in fact part of teh MSE package - it's upgraded slightly in the process, and receives updates through MSE. Do not attempt to uninstall or otherwise limit it - it's quite happy the way it is :) Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth
