Shamdrag - I don't believe there's a means to merge two partitions on two drives into one partition natively within Windows 7. You could do it if both partitions were on the same drive - and you had enough free space, you would need to copy the data off the non-system partition (if applicable) and shrink it or remove it and then extend the primary partition to fill up the space. What you're wanting to do has always been the realm of third party software.Secondly, you might try posting this in the Windows VISTA forums... This one is reserved for Windows 7...

A RAID driver of some type would make both disks act as one but withenhanced performance. It's a bird. It's a plane. It's Mr. Seven.

In the Disk Management Help, search forSpanned Volume."A spanned volume is a dynamic volume that consists of disk space on more than one physical disk. If a simple volume is not a system volume or boot volume, you can extend it across additional disks to create a spanned volume, or you can create a spanned volume in unallocated space on a dynamic disk."

It's not applicable, 'cause he want to merge 1 Tb disk with the"main disk C:", but this disk is a system volume, isn't it?My English is not very well.

The OP needs to be more specific, by merge does he mean transfer data or just using both disks or have both disks work together to form one partition which would only be posible with an array? It's a bird. It's a plane. It's Mr. Seven.

Yes sorry i have posted in the wrong froum it was suppose to be VISTA not windows 7. WhenI say merge I mean having both the main drive (boot ) and the newly installed 1TB into one main drive. I did ring about it and was told that the serail ata drives 1st and second cant be combined into 1 because the boot drive is small than the secondry drive of 1 TB..Sorry for wasting your time and putting this on the wrong forum.RegardsTeresa (lol) and you all thought I was a man.Thank to all for there help in this matter.
