Menu navigation from Exchange to Lync

Hi,

We are trying to setup our navigation menu and I need a little help to sort it out.

We would like when someone call our office, to have the Company Greeting message plays first, and then asks the person to type the user extension to reach him. (so far there is no problem with that we got it covered from exchange)

After that we have a voice message that asks about menu navigation to chose one of three options 1, 2, 3. Each of these options sends the caller to a response group in Lync. I did setup a response group in lync with its own DID, so if I call the DID directly, it's prompting me to choose what option I want to transfer the call to the right group of users.

The part I am having trouble with, is that people won't call the response group DID directly, they call the Exchange auto attendant, then I should then from the auto-attendant send them to the response group. My understanding is that exchange could handle the 3 choices in the menu navigation, and sends it to different DIDs for 3 different response groups. But also the response group has their own navigation menu. There must be a best practice to handle this, so any suggestion is more than welcome :)

I think you can use Operator Extension feature of UM Auto Attendant.  I did not use it myself, but, as far as I understand, you can enter the phone number of your response group and AA will offer to press 0 to go to this number.

Please check the auto-attendant is speech enabled.

You cannot have both accept "Key Mapping" and "Dial Extension Number" using the same time Auto Attendant.

Hi Mehdis,

The Key Mapping feature in the AA can help you to chose the options 1,2,3 to transfer the call to the Response group DID number. And enabling the key Mapping doesn't stop you entrying extension number to call the special user.
