Media Center dropout
Hi, I have seen alot of post about the issue i am having but no real answer. My Xbox360 keep disconnecting from my Windows 7 ultimate Media center. I get an event log message: Cannot send Media Center Extender software to Extender 'uuid:10000000-0000-0000-0200-0025AE8098F4'. Error: The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request. This problem happens all the time and i am unable to watch a recorded TV show without being kick out 2 or 3 times, But i am able to stream a full movie from Zune network without any interuptions which proves to me that my network is stable. I have notice that when i am disconnected from the media center my xbox still has a connection to the internet but I am not able to reconnect to the media center for atleast 2 or 3 mins(It fixes its self). The computer is a Quad core with 3 gigs of ram and i have no problem with the speed of the system just that it dropsout. Any help on the issue would be helpful as this is making this great system unusable.

Hi, Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums. This behavior occurs if something disrupts the connection between the MCX for Xbox and the computer. Typically, this behavior occurs because of network congestion, a disconnected cable, or if someone turned off the Media Center Edition (MCE) PC . Network congestion Heavy use of the network bandwidth can affect performance with the MCX for Xbox. For example, multiple PCs downloading information or file sharing can cause network congestion. 1. Make sure that no other devices on the network are using network bandwidth. Network disconnection 1. Verify that the Xbox console is on the network. Note Use standard Xbox network troubleshooting for this issue. 2. For help about troubleshooting MCE PC network issues, contact the OEM vendor. Media Center Edition PC 1. Verify that the MCE PC is on and that it is not in standby mode. 2. For help about troubleshooting MCE PC issues, contact the OEM vendor. Please check it out. Are you using a third party Firewall or anti-virus? Please uninstall these and reboot. Go into the xbox dashboard remove any associated PC and reinstall again. If this fails, set up a new user with administrative privileges and log off current user and into the new user and try to set up again. Also, do you have a fingerprint reader or an ASUS mother board? the thread exit/application error is not normally network related. No antivirus software or firewalls, there is one thing I think it might be and will figure out a way to change. My network is part wireless and that may be the cause of my trouble. The Media centre and xbox are on a wired 1gbit network although the xbox is 100mbit, but the router that handles my DHCP is on another wired network and I use a Wireless bridge to connect to it. I have had no issue with this setup except for this. I will try and move the DHCP router to the wired network that has the media centre and xbox and see if that has any effect.

No just the one DHCP router running it is switched off on other routers. I think it might have been conflicting software as i have removed most of the software from the computer except for microsoft office and last night I did not get any dropouts, Time will tell if it was the problem. I had software that intergrated with Media centre that could have been causing the problem called My Movies. it was an overly complicated movie library software that didn't work to well. After removing and restarting the PC seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks for your help and I will post back later if it has fixed my problem.
