McAfee security software
So far Windows 7 was disappointing to me. After installation I had to re-install all of my programs. Windows 7 does not transfer them to the new software. Also, After installing McAfee security, and having problems I called McAfee and was told they do NOT support Windows 7. So you either purchase another security program (no chance since I just renewed my subscription to McAfee) or get on the internet unprotected.Microsft - you need to do some cleaning up before you release the final.

roughseas - For what it's worth - Microsoft already posted (way back in January even) a list of AV products that support Windows 7. Oddly enough, McAfee IS on the list. Don't know who you talked to, but they are, allegedly working with Microsoft. Seems to me someone at McAfee steered you wrong.Secondly, you could have opted for a freeware AV product- like Avast! or AVG. Or you could have taken part of the Microsoft Security Essentials beta (formerly known as Morro - the replacement for Live One Care). The point is, you do have options.

I've had noting but problems trying to use McAfee Total Protection (their Beta for Win7). I almost threw in the towel on Windows7not know exactly what was giving me failure to boot problems. It seems thatMcAfee is conflicting with the Windows updates and not allowing them to complete properly. Upon reboot the files were corrupted or not there and I couldn't get back into Windows. I intially thought it was just the Windows updates, butthat just didn't make sense. After my last install I installed Trend's beta instead and haven't had a single problem since. I was a long time McAfee user as I get it free with myComcast service, but free is too much in this case!
