McAfee installation
Hi, I jus received my new Sony Viao with Windows 7 64-bit. I tried to install McAfee Anti virus (the one I already have on my other lappy with Vista and which was working excellent). But I was not able to install this, not sure why. could anyone help me here please?

Well, without any kind of error log or indication of why it's not working it's hard to suggest what to change or fix. It could be that the McAfee AV you have is only compatible with 32bit systems, since you mentioned the Windows 7 is 64 bit this might be a possibility. Install a different Antivirus solution like Microsoft Security Essentials, Avast, or AVG. Plenty of free ones out there that do a fine job.

For an anti-virus program, I recommend eSet NOD32, if you are willing to pay for it. If you want a free anti-virus, I recommend one of the following three:   Avira http://free-av.com/ Avast http://www.avast.com/index Microsoft Security Essentials http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/ And by the way, let me point out for the future that it would have been very easy for you to find those links yourself doing a search with Bing, Google, Yahoo, etc. I recommend against AVG. AVG used to be one of the better products, but the three free ones above have greatly passed it by.   You also need anti-spyware software. I recommend that you download and install (both freeware) MalwareBytes AntiMalware and SuperAntiSpyware. Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP
