McAfee Virusscan 2008 compatibility problem
Every time I start Windows 7 - I get a compatibility problem message for McAfee. Searching online for a solution yeilds nothing, and when I choose to run the programme anyway, it seems to get on with it. Site Advisor responds when I use IE and FFox, it downloads update files, and the scan seems to work when I start it.McAfee also says that I'm not fully protected - so I click FIX and then it seems to go quiet and go about doing it's thing.Am I protected?

Hi,Does your version of McAfee supports Windows 7? Please check with McAfee regarding this. I suggest for AV, use only those which are compatible and supported by the vendor.Since you are already receiving a compatibility prompt regarding McAfee, I don't expect everything to be working as expected. Thanks for the reply. I will send McAfee the question too and feedback here on their reply. McAfee's website makes no reference to Win7 at all - under any of the products or services, so it may just be too early for them.

mcafee does not support windows 7 at this time. i suggest you try AVG or Kapersky as they are the only two I am aware of at this time that are compatible with win7

out of the suggested antiviruses listed by windows 7 beta, it looked like avg and norton were charging for windows 7 compatible versions of their antivirus software......i'm using the third choice suggested, kaperski's because it was free....but the license key and activation of it said it was only good until april??

Right now there are only a select few anti-virus solutions that are approved as working on the Windows 7 Beta. They are listed at the Windows Team Blog and the Microsoft Security Partners page.Anything other than the ones listed are use at your own risk cause they are not tested to be fully compatible with Windows 7 at this time. There has been talk of others working. ~Alex T.~Windows Desktop Experience MVP~
