Bjarne,I am a little bit confused.Do you want that the windows 7 domain or local user has a minium password lenght or is this password specific to the magnetic stribe card.If you want to set the password lentgh for a domain or local user you can use Group Policies. Here are some intresting linkshttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc875814.aspxhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc956966.aspxOr this tutorial (this is on windows 2003 but still applies to windows 7)http://www.visualwin.com/Log-in/minimum-password-length.htmlCaveats.If you use windows 7 home or windows 7 home premiuim you can't edit your group policies. For domain users if your domain runs in Windows 2003 or lower your password policies will apply to all users.(this is fixed in server 2008 with the granular password policies.)Kind RegardsDFTIM me - TWiTTer: @DFTER

HiI am using win7 home premium and I have about 200 users to access this computer, it is a simple restriction so it's only the people with the card there is enabled to use the computer. The card have a number there the first 6 numbers are the same, and my idea is to let them use the card in a reader, only detecting the first 6 numbers on the card because the max length of the password is set to 6.This way, I only have to add one user, and the people use the card in the reader as password - and this way they are logged on.Best regardsBjarne

I agree with ITknowledge24's Opinion in another Microsoft Windows 7 thread. The card password length is designed by the card manufacturer and it cannot be configured at Windows 7 system side. If you would like to configure the length, I suggest you contact the card support for further assistance. Thanks, Novak
