Mapping network drive with Windows Vista
I'm having a problem that maybe user error but i'm pretty sure it isn't. I have a Windows Vista Laptop and I'm trying to map a network drive to it. The drive is on the Windows 2003 Server. I can map printers to the laptop from the same server but it keeps saying that it can't find the mapped drives. I ran the diagnostics and followed all of the steps on there to fix the network problem. I have done everything I can think of. Any clues?

Is that server in the domain? Are you in the same domain? Do you have permissions to access the share? Are you connecting with a local user? Deli

Having similar problem. Trying to map network drive (a file server) on a Vista PC - will not allow. When PC originally installed on network, was able to map drive. Seems like problem for us began about time of recent installation of Symantec Endpoint Protection (trialware). Sound familiar to anyone? Thank you for your advice.

I had a similar problem Mapping Network drives to a PC that had Symantec EndPoint Proection installed on it recently. In Symantec Network threat Protection, click on Options, then select change settings. This should bring up Network threat Protection settings. Go to the Microsoft Windows Networking tab and check the "Share my files and printers with others on the network" Option. See if thata helps Mike
