Here the situation.Trying to map a printer from a windows 7 computer with a locally installed printer using rdp to connect to a remote windows 7 computer with the "Printers" option selected in rdp local resources and the "mapped printer" does not show up on the remote windows 7 computer. What am I missing with windows 7 because this works with xp.

Hi, I would like to confirm what happens when you click Print button to print on Remote session. Does any printing dialog box appear? This issue may occur if the remote session does not install correct printer driver. First, please manually install latest printer driver on remote computer. The printer in question has the print drivers included with Windows7. So if the driver is included with Windows7, shouldn't it map the printer through?

I'm such a noob. I assumed that the printer was a networked printer. I found that it is an LPT1 port printer. I will look into the remote windows7 pc to see what ports are available and follow the two suggestion links you provided. I will let you know the results when I do. thanks!

The remote Windows7 pc turned out to not have lpt1 port. So, that's the reason it was not mapping through. Thanks for you help!
