Mapping Network Drives - not recognising username and password
ok, this is the problem. I have a NAS Drive > http://www.raidsonic.de/en/products/nas-systems.php?we_objectID=5679 (IB NAS3221) for some reason when i try to map my share in this drive Win7 says my credentials are incorrect :( BUT every now and then it will allow me to connect to it with full permissions without putting in any username or password. This is really frustrating me. the only way i can (without fail) connect to this drive is to use FTP with a client such as FileZilla. The NAS is setup up in a RAID config formatted in EXT2. Ideas anyone? Im using Win7 ultimate 64bit BoBi

please try this in command prompt net use \\nas_ip\nas_share /user:<user> <password> If fail, it will give more information why your password failed

Please temporary disable the antivirus and firewall. If the issue still occurs, please let us know how does it work if you access the NAS from a Windows Server 2003 computer via IP address? I suggest that you make the following changes on the Windows 7 computer: 1. Open gpedit.msc. 2. Find the policy Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options ->Network Security: Configure encryption types allowed for Kerberos 3. Configure the policy. If it is not configured, actually both DES cipher suites are disabled. I suggest that you enable all the suits. Then please check the result. If the issue persists, also try to change the default NTLM level. Please open gpedit.msc from Start Search box. Then locate to the following policy. Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\Network security: LAN Manager authentication level Please change “Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated”. Hey Arthur Xie Ty for your reply. This fix was attempted many times before with no avail. I have since looked into the Credential Manager as advised on a other post and thought about the the way the session is being categorised under as Enterprise. The issue isn't really mapping with the device. say for example i leave this box turned off for a few days. when i turn it back on I then need to remap this and it prompts me for user name and password and accepts them. How ever, if i leave the box turned on, within a day or two windows loses the connection and will not accept the same credentials. It is only if i delete the credentials and turn the box off for a while then reconnect it then it lets me map it again. BoBi
