Mapping Drive Error on XP : Please go to the Control Panel to install and configure system components
I am having an issue with a new pc that was loaded and mapped to an existing shared drive. If i connect the old pc the shares still connect with out any issue.I get the error : "Please go to the Control Panel to install and configure system components " with the error titled "Windows XP Setup" in the blue bar onthe top. If i click on start >>> run >>>\\PC-name\SHARE-name it connects me to the share. I have tried creating a new locan admin account and the mapping still does not work. I tried different drive letterings as well. There are no INF files if the shared floder, just standard MS word and Excel docs. I am using the HP Z600 and i tried connecting a newly installed laptop and that connects fine to the mapped drives. I am using XP SP2 version 2002 - it is a fresh factor installation with ony office 2003 istalled on it. Can any one assit?
