Mapped drives Windows 7 to Unix
We have an EMC Celerra with shares that are mapped for our users. Everything worked great in Windows XP but with Windows 7 i cannot use UNC mapping with the name i have to use the IP address. example: previously - \\machinename\sharename now (windows 7 only) \\x.x.x.x\sharename. I don't know how to correct this, anyone have an idea?Marcia Henry

Have you tried disabling IPv6 on the Windows 7.

I tried your suggestion and it worked 3 out of 5 so far. Question, what do you think could be causing it not to work on the 2? OS is the same, NIC the same.Marcia Henry

Not sure, i can only make a guess. They have different protocol enabled then the other 3. Or tcp/ip stuck is corrupted and needs to be reset to default. Try disabling NIC and re-enabling and if it doesn't work then try the suggestion below: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-networking/how-to-reset-tcpip-stack-in-windows-7/82560f98-de0c-4e75-ae48-9938bc980f47 "netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.log"
