Mapped Drives
I'm setting up some new Windows 7 pc's. The users have access to three mapped drives. Part of the set up of the pc's are to add printers / drivers which are located on a fouth drive that only IT Support has access. I would like to be able to access the IT support ( i'm IT support) drive while logged in on the pc's as the users instead of having to download the drivers from the web or copy the drivers over. Obviously when i map the drive normally i get an access denied message. My question is do i use the connect using different credentials option when i map the drive to get around this?

If you want to map drive with a different credential, try the “net use” command line. Easy, map the share in IT by its IP address using your IT credentials to map the share.
