Map to share on a different domain
I'm trying to map a drive to a share on a Windows 2008 file server on another domain from a Windows 7 machine. I have a Windows7 machine in domain1. When trying to map, the option to map using different credentials is selected. When the "Enter Network Password" box pops up, the username is entered as domain2\username with the appropriate password for domain2. It comes back with "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password" The username and password are correct. We also tried alternate username and passwords, all with the same result. The "Everyone" group has permissions to the share and security access. Any ideas?

Hi, Try setting the username as UPN format username@domain.local Also, check ur DNS and ensure both domain controllers are listed in the DNS. Obviously if the DNS is wrong, then the host will have difficulty processing domain info. Martin If you find my information useful, please rate it. :-)
