Map FTP Server as a network drive
Using Vista Ultimate I want to map an FTP server, foo.bar.com at 01.01.01.01 as a network drive. I created an LMHOSTS file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc with the entry01.01.01.01 fooFTP #PRESaved the file, did nbtstat -R and then net view \\fooFTP. I got System error 53, The network path was not found. I can do ping foo and get a response. What am I doing wrong?

I was trying to do something similar but the comments on the page below indicate it is not possible to do every case without certain applications installed on the FTP server. There are some services that allow this such as NetDrive and ExpandDrive but most ordinary FTP services do not, http://windowsitpro.com/article/articleid/14486/how-can-i-map-to-an-ftp-server-as-a-drive.html
