Malware, or virus infiltration, disabling all explorer commands
I do not have a lot of details, but her eit goes. Some how or another my wifes 's computer has been infected with a severe malware or virus. Every tome I try to go to the web so I can get to windows live one care safety scanner, i get the cnnot show page for internet connection. (NOt saying that right). I installed microsoft security essentials on her computer a while back and it did not catch it. A security shield shows like that in windows and asks to intall security software. I am then redirected to a web page displayiing an antivirus program labeled Antispyware Soft. I did not get the address to display in this topic because I am running MS Malicious removal tool scan I downloaded from my computer. I told her to stop watching ____! HA< HA> I do not know why MSSE did not catch it, but I thought I should let you know. As well as disabling all run commands such as MSCONFIG, System restore. None of those programs will initialize. Need help. Tried emptying all temp files and some are locked. Cannot even get into safe mode. I can only get into safe mode with networking. And even then I cannot connect to the internet. Diagnostic tool tells me that ports HTTP 80, HTTPS 443 and FTP 21 are off or closed. Have not figured out how to initialize them. Looking for downloadable tools that I can run to kill this bug or malware. Using my flash drive and going back and forth. I think I fixed the problem, need to verify it though. I fixed it by using my sytem restore while I was in the safe mode w/networking. Seems like there was a good file to back up to. I am still going to run through a total system scan at the windows live one care safety scanner. and also throug my MSSecurity Essentials , program.1 person needs an answerI do too
