Making a partition with Disk Managemente on Windows 7
I'm tring to make a partition on my haard disk with Windows 7 Disk Managenment and when I rightclik on the c: area it dosent give my the option for "new volumen" to creat a new partition. Do I have to deactivate the c: partition?

I am afraid that you are trying to do kill your installation. You can create new partition in the free space on disk but not in existing c: drive. I would strongly recommend reading basic introductory book on Windows 7 operating system. Regards Milos

Hi, You can right click C partition and select Shrink Volume. It will create a unallocated space. Right click the unallocated space and select New Simple Volume.Niki Han TechNet Community Support

Yes, you could first try shrink this partition in snap-in disk management, but this tool could not shrink to a proper size, and if there are already four primary partitions, you may convert this disk to dynamic disk through using disk management, if you meet this limits you could refer to this link: how to make partitons in windows 7
