Maintaining local default printer when using Anyconnect VPN

Windows 7 & 8 have the option to manage default printers based on Network Location Awareness services.

The benefit of this is that if I am at home my default printer is automatically set to my local printer and if at office my default printer is automatically set to my office printer.

Great except when I work from home using Cisco Anyconnect 3.1 windows will use my office printer as the default instead of local.

How do I get Windows to detect that I am using VPN and not have NLA overriding my default printer since I am physically not present in the office?

Were you ever able to get a resolution to this?  We just started facing this same situation after switching from Cisco's IPSEC VPN to AnyConnect.

Thanks.
