Hi I am using outlook express and i have AVG and yes it does scan emails.Disable AVGs e-mail scanning feature (it's not needed and is often troublesome.) Restart the computer and see if the message can be downloaded.You may have to uninstall AVG and reinstall it without the E-mail scanner, Safe Search and Link Scanner.Why is the e-mail scanner not needed? AVG will check any attachments you try to open or save anyway. This is much more important than scanning the body of every message.Don
